Although you’ll rarely find two engagement rings that are identical, some rings are much more unique and non-traditional than your classic or trendy engagement ring. At Kristin Coffin, our engagement rings are the perfect combination of elegant and edgy.
So, what sets our rings apart? Our one-of-a-kind designs. Every ring is created with a modern spin — whether that’s an unexpected diamond arrangement or non-traditional gemstones — resulting in an unexpected, unique engagement ring.
What is a Unique Engagement Ring?
Unique engagement rings are defined as rings that are not as common as the designs or stones that adorn most ring fingers. These engagement rings might have an unconventional setting, an alternative center stone, or be 100% custom-made. Some unique engagement rings include vintage engagement rings, cluster engagement rings, art deco engagement rings, or even nature-inspired ones.
However, even rings with the more “traditional” styles (such as halo engagement rings or three-stone engagement rings) can be unique. These are some of our best-selling rings, but they are all still wildly unique and beautiful.
How Can I Make My Engagement Ring More Unique?
Although we believe that every engagement ring truly is unique to its wearer, there are ways that you can make your engagement ring more unique or non-traditional. Here are a few:
-Go with an unconventional setting: you’ll know this when you see it because you won’t have seen it much before. This might include a unique twist on a traditional setting (such as solitaire), such as a star-shaped halo around a round diamond instead of a circular halo.
-Try a gemstone alternative. While natural diamonds are stunning, they are undoubtedly the most common stone for an engagement ring. Here are a few of our favorite unique gemstone options: grey moissanite, blue sapphires, and salt and pepper diamonds.
-Use a not-so-common diamond shape. Some of the most popular shapes include round, oval, and radiant. Add a unique stone to your engagement ring and set the stage for a non-traditional ring!
-Stick with just a band. While many wedding bands lean more on the side of tradition, sticking with just a band for your engagement ring is unique in and of itself! Browse some of our favorites, including Margo, Eleanor, and Aspen.
Unique Diamond Shapes
If you’ve been browsing engagement rings for a while now, you’ve likely seen many unique diamond shapes. Some of them include pear, emerald, and Asscher. However, if a more traditional shape, like a round, is what you fall in love with, there’s still an opportunity to add other unique gemstones! Engagement rings settings, such as three-stone, give the wearer a unique opportunity to have more than one diamond shape on their ring.
Unique Engagement Ring Settings
As mentioned above, one of the most straightforward ways to make an engagement ring more unique is to set your gemstone of choice in a setting that isn’t as commonplace. However, you can further set your ring apart by specifying some of the more minor details of the setting, such as adding diamonds to the shank, choosing a unique metal color (like rose gold), or adding accent diamonds.
